Tribal Spirit is a very intimate journey, one in which my personal experiences are not involved, but one which would translate to another kind of experience.
I have always felt a strange kindred spirit with the tribes living on our planet today, with civilisations which are fading. Already very early in my youth, I had a profound interest in ancient cultures from the past.
I work as if I were an archaeologist, discovering deep
in the earth, vessels shards and traces of people from the past.I experience a feeling of «déjà-vu»,when I see artefacts and objects belonging to primitive tribes.They provoke a sense of recognition in textures, colours and shapes, relating to something I once knew, pertinent to my most ancient roots.This work is also a reflection of the theme – «Permanence and Fragility» –, humanity: global or private. Each artefact from the past introducesus to a world transcending from fleeting to permanence.
Intriguing are the parallels which can be found in the theme and the material involved in my pieces.The technique of «Pâte de verre» embodies in a fragile object the essence of permanence.
